BEHIND THE GLASS
Tracy Wolff
I love all types of glass art but it is glass fusing (kiln forming glass) that has captured my heart and imagination.
I started with a stained glass class in the 90's and have over the years dabbled in lampwork (torch fired glass) and blown glass but it is glass fusing that gives me the freedom over form, texture, color and depth that I crave. I have been fortunate to learn my craft over the years from some of the best instructors in the glass art world.
Experimenting with melted glass, acrylic painting, and silversmithing, I am forever honing my craftsmanship and exploring different ways to incorporate these techniques into my glass art.
My favorite part of the day is opening the kiln after hours and hours of waiting. That moment, when I find out how the glass has melted and if it’s behaved how I engineered it to is always a moment of pure magic.
